* Further to our first Casualty Advice concerning bulk carrier, GRACE going adrift, we have received further reports that the vessel subsequently experienced seawater ingress into the engine room by way of the stern tube.

* The vessel was later taken under tow by tug to Hambantota, Sri Lanka for inspection and temporary repairs.

* General Average has now been declared. GA security is therefore required from all Cargo Interests prior to the delivery of their cargo and we will be able to assist in that regard.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.

* We have received reports that bulk carrier, GRACE, was disabled and adrift in a position approximately 235 nautical miles east of Trincomalee, as a result of fishing nets becoming entangled in its propellers, on 16 July 2023.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
