ACHILLES BULKER

* We have received reports that bulk carrier, ACHILLES BULKER, experienced the loss of its rudder while at the port of Tauranga, New Zealand on 24 July 2023.

* The vessel was later towed by tug to Tauranga outer anchorage for assessment.

* It is reported that the rudder was later recovered from the seabed with signs of previous damage, however, the vessel will be required to attend a dry dock to enable the rudder to be refitted or replaced.

* It is therefore possible that General Average issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We, therefore, recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
