X-PRESS KAILASH

* We have received reports that container ship, X-PRESS KAILASH experienced a fire in the engine room whilst in a position approximately 25 nautical miles west-south-west of Karwar, India on 3 October 2023.

* Shipowners report that the fire was extinguished by the crew and that auxiliary power was restored to the vessel later that day, whilst the crew continue to attempt to restore power to the main engine.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
