STRINDA

* We have received reports that chemical/products tanker, STRINDA, was struck by a missile said to be launched by Houthi rebels, whilst transiting the Bab-el-Mandab Strait on 12 December 2023.

* It is reported that a fire was ignited on board the vessel as a consequence of the missile strike. The fire is reported to have been brought under control and the vessel was later escorted toward safe waters by a US Navy vessel.

* It is possible that General Average issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
