GUANA

*We have received reports that General cargo ship, Guana experienced a fire and went adrift whilst in a position southwest of Brest, on 27 December 2023.

*It is reported that the fire was brought under control by the crew before they were evacuated from the vessel for their safety.

*A firefighting tug has been deployed to assist the vessel and has now taken it under tow towards Brest.

*It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty

*We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
