MSC SAO PAULO V

* We have received reports that container carrier, MSC SAO PAULO V (IMO: 9147071) experienced a fire in the engine room whilst navigating the St. Lawrence River, near Les Bergeronnes, Canada on 3 March 2024.

* It is reported the fire has not yet been brought under control. A number of vessels have been deployed by the Canadian Coast Guard to assist the vessel.

* It is likely that General Average/Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
