SHIN KYOWA MARU

* We have received reports that the chemical product tanker SHIN KYOWA MARU (IMO: 9267998) experienced a rudder failure in a position approximately 13 nautical miles southwest of Cape Irozaki, Japan, on 4 March, 2024.

* It is reported that the vessel went adrift as a result of the incident. Consequently, a tugboat has been deployed to assist the vessel.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
