DELPHINE

* We have received reports that Vehicle Carrier DELPHINE (IMO:9789245), experienced a fire onboard at the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium, on 16 April 2025.

* It is reported that the fire originated on the third deck which contained 60 electric vehicles and 40 conventional cars.

* Media reports indicate that the fire was brought under control by deployment of the vessel’s CO2 system and with the assistance of up to four firefighting tugs and the local Fire Brigade providing boundary cooling, but fears persist that the fire may reignite.

* Initial reports indicate that approximately 60 – 70 vehicles have been damaged by fire although the full extent of the damage is yet to be assessed.

* It is likely that General Average and Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any of the vehicles stowed on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
